The Department of Veterans Affairs Mobile Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling and information resources to veterans across the country. Like community-based vet centers, Mobile Vet Centers focus on services that help veterans make the transition between military and civilian life.

“The Mobile Vet Center provides outreach in a big way,” said Sarah Godsave, military education benefits coordinator at UW-Stout. “Often times, student veterans are unaware of the benefits available to them as they return from uniform to the university.

Sarah Godsave“The Mobile Vet Center offers information on VA health care enrollment, reintegration counseling, as well as local supports to help student veterans succeed. By partnering with an on-campus education benefits specialist, it becomes a comprehensive resource for students and the public alike,” she added.

Godsave said the center is a one-stop resource where veterans, especially in rural areas, can get answers to questions they have regarding postcombat supports relating to community, health care, mental health, and other subjects.

The last time a Mobile Vet Center visited UW-Stout was in 2014.

The Veteran Services office at UW-Stout includes a Military and Veteran Resource Center in Bowman Hall.
