Brief Biography

I am originally from the Boyceville area so living in Menomonie is truly nice because it is close to family. I've had many new "chapters" started in the last couple of years with marriage and first baby. Besides learning how to balance family and school, I enjoy crafting, outdoors activities and taking pictures.

Teaching Interests: I truly enjoy my job. I love teaching and helping young children reach new milestones and discover what's around them through learning. I enjoy being a mentor to the college lab students and also to student teachers.

Research Interests: After completing my thesis to incorporate ESL in Early Childhood classrooms, I want to continue to try new approaches and see the growth that occurs with ELL children in my classroom.

Professional Interests: I enjoy attending conferences to learn new ideas and theories about child development. I also enjoy presenting at conferences.

Roles/Responsibilities

My role is to plan, develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning environment for children ages 3 to 4. I also play the role of a cooperating teacher for pre-student teachers. Another role I play is to be a mentor to college students who come into the classroom for lab hours.
