“If I’m working on art, I’m happy. To me that’s the only dream I need,” said senior Adrian Perales.
And that’s exactly what Perales spends much of his time doing, creating. The University of Wisconsin-Stout is one of few UW schools that offer the opportunity to pursue entertainment design. Perales is now expected to graduate in December 2018, with a concentration in comics and sequential art, minoring in studio art with an emphasis in printmaking.
Perales is currently working on two comics: “...one for senior show, and one for fun,” said Perales. “My senior show comic is a fantasy story in which healers are seen as criminals, and a woman’s self discovery of autonomy and morality.”
To take his involvement one step further, Perales joined UW-Stout’s organization, Comic Creators, now the president, and illustrates for the campus newspaper, Stoutonia.
“I love to draw and tell stories, and honestly, what I love about my program is my peers; they are some of the most driven and motivated people I have ever met,” said Perales.
