A new provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs has been named at UW-Stout.

Glendali Rodriguez was announced Thursday, Nov. 4, by Chancellor Katherine Frank, culminating a national search process.

Rodriguez has been serving as interim provost since August 2019. She has worked at UW-Stout since 2005 in various capacities, including professor, department chair and associate provost.

I am delighted that Glendali Rodriguez will be serving as the new provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs. Glendali is deeply committed to UW-Stout's identity and mission as Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University,” Frank said.

“Her academic training, history at UW-Stout, and ability to think both critically and innovatively across not only Academic Affairs, but the entire university are valuable assets as we continue to advance FOCUS2030, the university’s new 10-year strategic plan,” Frank said.

FOCUS2030 was launched in May.

Rodriguez is a licensed professional architect, with a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Master of Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology.

I am excited to serve as the next provost for UW-Stout. Since becoming a member of the community in 2005, I have developed a sense of pride in Stout — its employees, the students, our professional and community partners — and our amazing dedication to fostering success. It’s an honor to lead the Academic Affairs division,” Rodriguez said.

“I am confident that through partnerships, creative problem-solving and strong leadership we can meet the FOCUS2030 goals. Our shared institutional values will serve as our guide, and I am ready to lead our important work as Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University.”

The Provost's Office oversees the Division of Academic Affairs, which includes:

  • Career Services
  • College of Arts, Communication, Humanities and Social Sciences
  • College of Education, Hospitality, Health and Human Sciences
  • College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management
  • Graduate School
  • Honors College
  • Nakatani Teaching and Learning Center
  • Office of International Education
  • Office of Research and Sponsored Programs
  • University Library

Frank thanked the search committee, led by Dean of Students Sandi Scott, for its leadership and thanked the campus community for its “engaged participation in the search process.”
