Kathleen Brown has received the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award for April at University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Brown, of Stillwater, Minn., is an office manager for University Dining Service in the Memorial Student Center. She has worked at UW-Stout for 6½ years.
Brown’s nomination stated: “Kathleen has relentless enthusiasm as the face of University Dining Service in the MSC. She takes care of everyone who walks in through the door with the same friendly face and knowledgeable customer service. Kathleen is a Stout standout.
“Kathleen never comes off as too busy to help someone and is always ready with a listening ear. She has a way of making people feel important and cared for. Everyone leaves the office feeling more special than when they walked in, and it's because of Kathleen,” the nomination said.
Chancellor Bob Meyer presents each winner with a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout travel mug and a UW-Stout blanket.
Students, faculty and staff may nominate a university staff member who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the university community.
The award, in its 13th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
