UW-Stout gives everyone a chance to excel and succeed in their field.
Tyler Elwood was the first person in his family to attend a four-year college. He knew he wanted to go to UW-Stout because he felt Stout's hands-on approach would give him a better career-outlook.
But he didn't know what he wanted to study or which direction he wanted his career to take him. It was a challenge for him to find a major and classes that would benefit him the most.
"I had to figure out a lot," Elwood said, "like sorting out what I really wanted to do for the rest of my life."
After his first semester, he declared his major in ICT. His experiences in his co-op prepared him for the industry by giving him the information needed to succeed.
"And there was always someone around to help me if I needed and to answer my questions no matter how complex they were," Elwood said.
