Brief Biography

Dr. Harms has taught both undergraduate and graduate level face to face and online literacy and reading assessment courses at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Concordia University and Buena Vista University. She has served as an ESEA, Title IA Educational Consultant at CESA #10. Her teaching background includes a variety of grade levels K-5, special education, and a year-round, multi-age, inner city school, as well as small rural schools. Her extensive experience includes serving as reading specialist in districts and coordinator of professional development in the area of English Language Arts for 29 school districts. Her K-12 staff development has focused on Title I - interventions for struggling readers, curriculum development, the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), student information systems, teacher equality for evaluative purposes and grant writing.
