Our EDUC 761 Facilitating Collaborative Communities course includes how to

  • facilitate online (for trainers and teachers) using asynchronous and synchronous communication technologies.
  • analyze strategies that foster interaction and promote collaboration using online tools like chat, Skype, and Zoom.
  • use educational taxonomies to design and analyze discussion questions that promote critical thinking. 
  • enhance conflict resolution skills and practice netiquette.
  • take a hands-on approach to e-portfolio development, problem-solving using scenarios, simulations, and case study.
  • use time management strategies and how to avoid pitfalls when facilitating online group projects.
  • explore summative assessment and formative feedback tools to analyze, assess, and encourage learner discussion board participation.
