STEMM Student Expo to feature 160 research projects

Cutting-edge ideas and technology will be on display during the STEMM Student Expo at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

The free event is from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Great Hall and ballrooms of the Memorial Student Center. It will feature 160 research projects by students from the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.

Students discuss their projects at the 2018 STEMM Expo.

 

Examples of projects include:

  • Super Smash Bros: Project for the Blind, from the Impacts of Engineering class
  • Rocket Kifas Wheelchair, from a mechanical engineering capstone course
  • Rocks on Acid, from an Advanced Biochemistry class
  • Exo-Suit, from Computer Engineering Design, a capstone course
  • Wanderer’s Backpack, from the Functional Design and Development course

A total of 438 students are involved. They will present research posters and, when possible, examples of their projects.

The STEMM College has 18 undergraduate and eight graduate programs.
